Art is Life

I’ve been writing about working on multiple Art projects at one time, and all the Artists I have spoke with seem to take the same approach!

One constant for me, though, even though I have many projects happening, is my dedication to doing something creative daily.

Recently, I began working on (or playing with, depending on how you view it!), is a mixed media piece utilizing book parts. I have worked in vintage books for many years now, either making art pieces, or altering them to be a journal.

This particular project I am working on came from a class I took with Carla Sonheim Presents (one of my favorite online class platforms). The class is called “Vintage Book Collage.”

What I find pleasing about this process is that I rely heavily on my creative instincts, while following what the art is telling me to do!

Also, In a time when I do a lot of artwork with the intent to sell, working on this piece, I have no expectations that I will do anything at all with the art…I am just enjoying the process!

I also find that working this way is a little like life….Sometimes I come across obstacles that I then must figure out!

Here is the piece I am working on:

In other news…

I continue to diligently add products to my print on demand Zazzle store. It’s been fun designing home decor, invitations and all types of products and accessories that people can personalize! I love using my own designs for this…. combining typography with my style of illustration. My latest product line are Teacher Appreciation Gifts. Please visit my zazzle store to check it out:
