When Life gets chaotic…and you still make space to create
I have shared a few ways to stay organized when your creativity wants to run in ten directions at once.
And honestly? I’ve recently had to rely on those same practices more than ever lately.
I recently moved — boxes everywhere, routines turned inside out, the kind of transition where even finding your favorite pen feels like a small victory.
It’s the exact kind of moment when creative work usually gets pushed to “later.”
But something surprising happened.
Even in the middle of the packing tape and cardboard, I found myself carving out tiny pockets of time to work on my creative projects. Ten minutes here, a little sketch refinement there — nothing grand, nothing polished. Just small, steady returns.
And those small returns have added up.
My portfolio, as well as my print on demand shops are taking shape in a way that feels both grounded and joyful.
My “chaos” reminded me — and maybe it’s a reminder you need too — that creativity doesn’t need perfect conditions. It doesn’t need a spotless desk, a free afternoon, or a quiet mind. Sometimes it just needs a sliver of space and your willingness to meet it where you are.
If your life feels full or chaotic right now, you’re not alone.
And maybe, just maybe, five minutes with something that delights you could be enough.
In other news…
Amidst all of the change, I have been focused on revamping my Zazzle Store! It is now called “Artful Whim Studio” and I have lots of great stuff for holiday gifts! Each day I am adding more gifts that can be personalized! Visit me here:
